So, I just recently finished the last of the Ace Attorney games and man was it epic...I’ve been wanting to try them since I heard about them in 2006 from . Theoretically I could have picked up Trials and Tribulations and Apollo Justice right away, but I wanted to play the first game first. Well, anyways, long story short, I was able to borrow all 4 of them from a friend of mine and I actually bought my own copy of T&T last week. So, now I have nothing to do except sit on my hands and look at/create fanworks until Feb. when Edgeworth’s game comes out. So now I’m going to recount my experience of the games to you. If you haven’t played and don’t want spoilers stop reading here and know that I highly recommend you play this series. However if you like spoilers, or if you have also played this series and want to know what I thought of it, then read on.
Game 1: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
This game was lots of fun. If I ever see a copy in a store I would not hesitate to buy it, just to go through the experience again. The beginning is wild, it pulls you into the story by starting off ‘in medias res’ (for anyone who didn’t do so well in English class, that means in the middle of the action in Latin) showing the moment of the murder. The cast of characters is a lot of fun, I really like Gumshoe and his financial problems and Maya’s obsession with cartoons (kinda reminds me of me ) Phoenix is so much fun to watch as he does battle with his rival, the demon prosecutor, Miles Edgeworth. I’ve gotta admit though, my favourite cases were definitely the last two and all the flashbacks to when they were kids. I also really liked Ema Skye and her obsession with SCIENCE!!! The fact that the last two were intertwined really kept my interest because it made the plot that more complex since (almost) everyone was somehow involved.
Game 2: Justice for All
This game I have to admit, was probably my least favourite out of the 4, it’s not that it wasn’t good; it’s just that it wasn’t as good. Although I did like the one in Kurain Village with Pearl and her mom was pretty wild. Pearl is sooo cute! The circus case just annoyed me though, I can’t say I really enjoyed it that much or the Mask deMasque one. Ron was irritating and Atmey was a lunatic glory hound. Franziska von Karma was pretty funny though. My friend that lent me the games told me before starting this one that the word ‘fool’ and all of its derivatives would lose all meaning, I didn’t get what she meant until after I got to Franziska…then it all became clear. The Engarde case was kinda fun, I liked how you got to switch to Maya, the hostage situation/ radio on the witness stand was pretty funny.
Game 3: Trials and Tribulations
Oh Godot! The man was great, 17 cups of blind, vengeance-seeking, side switching fabulousness. This game may have been my fave of the first 3…it and 1 are pretty close. I loved how all the cases in this one were related and one person was to blame for everything…and Feenie, oh, Feenie. He was the most hilarious/irritating witness ever. Him and his big pink sweater. My fave thing about him though, was that when he interrupted the court room, you heard the actual Phoenix Wright sound bytes. Poor Pearl has a really messed up family. The last case though, was win because you got to be Edgeworth! What, “rosecutor Edgeworth Defence Attorney just sounds stupid”…oh Gumshoe The lengths that Diego went for Mia was really sweet and I was left with warm fuzzies after the last case. I really wanted him to take that visor off though. I think my favourite thing about this game was the amount of coffee that got thrown at Phoenix’s head.
Game 4: Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney
So, now we’re 7-8 years in the future, which already makes me happy, I like future stories. Not only that but our fabulous Phoenix has been disbarred :gasp: because of a scandal that happened 7 years ago involving forged evidence. So, you’re now a new attorney, Apollo Justice. Polly is such a fun character, he gets majorly star-struck when he first meets Phoenix Wright, who is now a rather dishevelled looking ‘hobo’. This actually gave me a funny comic idea, which may or may not be drawn and posted. Trucy is super cute and her magic panties…not to mention Apollo’s reaction to them is hilarious. Also, we see the return of (SCIENCE!!!) Ema now with fabulous projectiles, which usually find their way to Apollo and his fabulous forehead. I can’t say I was a fan of the Gavin bros. Klavier was a glimmerous fop (seriously, a rock star prosecutor?) and Kristoph was just insane. The whole intrigue with Troupe Grammarye was lots of fun, I really like, as I’ve already mentioned, when the game is interconnected. I didn’t see the whole related thing coming and I really hope that if GS5 has Apollo in it, that they touch on that, seeing as they haven’t been told yet. Also the time-travelling, time travelling hobos, that is not something that happens every day. This game is also up there on my list.

All in all, this series is lots of dramatic finger-pointing fun! So, now I will sit here and wait for February and draw Polly in magic panties.
